MERCI

A simple system designed to reduce a hospital's cost of operation while protecting our environment and aiding humanity.

MERCI is an acronym relating to two primary directives: Medical Equipment

 Recovery
and the redirection of Clean Inventory. Through this program, initiated at

the University of Virginia's Heath Science Center, I have successfully demonstrated

that millions of hospital dollars may be saved over time through a simple combination

of waste stream audits and redirection of clean medical supplies. As a result,

hundreds of thousands of pounds
of useful medical equipment and clean inventory

from the University of Virginia are now being utilized within the community and

abroad instead of adding to our growing landfill concerns and global atmospheric

pollution problems. I strongly encourage all hospital personnel who might have an

interest in reducing operating costs for their hospital while serving humanity at large, to

investigate this innovative project.

*The value of the captured and diverted supplies to missions is 84 million dollars
